Zelenskyy Was Hiding From Hit Squads. GOP Senators Tweeted His Image On a Zoom Call.
Interesting how Republicans give themselves a pass for recklessness.
As Ukraine and Russia are in the midst of the second week of war, it’s been hard not to note the bravery of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Even leading up to the Russian invasion of his country, there is no denying that Zelenskyy did what he could in the past couple of months to de-escalate the situation in the middle of Russia and the West, and protect his people from war. Now, the former comedian and actor has proven himself to be a courageous leader, who has made it clear he will die fighting for the sovereignty of his country if need be. While I vehemently disagree with the idea of placing a no fly zone over Ukraine and drawing the United States into the conflict with a move that would inarguably escalate the situation, on a human level it’s hard not to sympathize with his pleas for help.
Recently, Zelenskyy once again made his case to American lawmakers on a Zoom call. A Zoom call that they were specifically asked not to share anything about on social media, obviously to protect the security of the Ukrainian President who has faced multiple assassination attempts in the past few days alone.
