You did raise good points, and of course because there isn’t true agreement on costs I made sure to state that in my piece. However, I refuse to buy in to the narrative that this country can’t afford it based on our military spending alone. the bottom line is we need to cut military spending DRASTICALLY and raise taxes on corporations and individuals who can afford it. It would take years to implement this system, and even more time to get it running efficiently, but I still stand by the fact that this is something we need to get behind. Europe does it. Canada does it. None of the systems are perfect, but their citizens overall are happy and healthier and that is what matters most.
