With Just One Sick Day, Lawmakers Forced Rail Workers Back to Work.
I’m so tired of it.
I just keep thinking about how the media had the nerve to call Biden “FDR 2.0”.
Well once again, the Democratic and Republican Parties alike have sided with corporate interests, voting for legislation that will force rail workers to accept a contract that guarantees them only one sick day a year. They then voted against legislation that would add seven additional sick days. Except, of course, there were a handful who couldn’t even be bothered to vote at all.
More Perfect Union tweeted:
“UPDATE: Joe Manchin, a reliable ally of the U.S Chamber of Commerce, has voted against paid sick days for rail workers. The Chamber, America’s largest corporate lobby, had told lawmakers that this would be tracked as a “key vote” for the organization.”
Ah, Joe Manchin. Of course. The corporate lapdog who never, ever misses an opportunity to give the American people the middle finger. He was the only Democrat to vote alongside Republicans against paid sick days.
