Will Sen. Mitch McConnell Actually Oppose President-Elect Donald Trump?

We’ll see, but I’m not getting my hopes up.

It’s no secret that throughout the tenure of President-elect Donald Trump’s political career, he hasn’t exactly seen eye to eye with one of if not the most important Republican lawmaker in the country. That lawmaker of course being none other than Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell.

We all know McConnell’s track record, and it speaks for itself. No one has been more effective, more patient, or successful in Republican politics in decades. His ability to re-shape the judiciary alone will have his name inked into the history books, and we’re still feeling the effects of what he has accomplished to this day and will continue to do so for years to come.

It’s not exactly controversial to suggest that maybe his slow, steady, calculated approach is a significant part of the reason why he and Donald Trump haven’t seen eye to eye much if not at all. Perhaps that’s why there are some articles seeming to hold out hope that there might actually be some Republican resistance to Donald Trump, specifically led by McConnell.
