Will Kyrsten Sinema Get the Lobbying Job She Appears to be After?

Is her obstructionist strategy really going to work in the long run?

Kyrsten Sinema has been in the news a lot lately, and it has admittedly been incredibly easy to get fixated on her actions or lack thereof. She has been infuriatingly brazen in her disdain for the very people who got her elected, relished in her inaccessibility, and joyously given what amounts to the middle finger to those of us on the left who have the temerity to simply ask where she stands with the reconciliation bill, or what she would like to see cut from it. As I have said before, she has essentially set her Senate career on fire and I count myself among those who think the end game has always been to merely get a lobbying job and cash in on all of her obstruction at the behest of her donors.

The thing is, I now can’t help wondering if she’s burned so many bridges that it might no longer be a rock solid option for her.

Don’t get me wrong, she has served her donors well. She has never hesitated to put their will before the will and wellbeing of her constituents. But in order to be a good lobbyist, don’t the people you’re lobbying have to like and respect you?
