Why Won’t Diane Feinstein Retire?

The California lawmaker represents everything wrong with the Democratic Party.

For those of us who follow politics consistently, it’s safe to say that we all have seen those pictures of California senator Diane Feinstein returning to the Senate via wheel chair for the first time since February after a battle with Shingles. As someone who works in a nursing home and has seen residents and my own loved ones dealing with shingles, I wouldn’t wish it on anyone especially someone at the age of 90.

That being said as bad as I might feel for her on a human level having to deal with that illness at her age, ultimately at the end of the day the entire situation just makes me angry.

Diane Feinstein looks frail, exhausted, and frankly unfit for office. And yet here we are, with the Democratic Party parading around a sick 90 year old woman on full display. Seeing her in this state was yet another reminder of what time has been wasted due to her absence, and rather than retiring in dignity this is the direction that Feinstein and the Democratic Party have chosen.

And that decision is really the encapsulation of everything wrong with today’s Democratic Party, isn’t it?

Perhaps no one summed it up better than Gio DeBatta on Twitter, who wrote:
