Why is Mike Pence Bothering to Run For President?

How does the former VP think this is going to go?

Well, I suppose it should come as no surprise that more candidates are poised to enter the Republican primary. In the coming days not only is former New Jersey governor Chris Christie preparing to enter the race, reports indicate that none other than former Vice President Mike Pence will be as well.

Tim Reid with Reuters writes:

“Former U.S. Vice President Mike Pence on Monday declared himself a candidate in the 2024 Republican race for the White House, setting up a fight against former President Donald Trump. Pence’s campaign filed a declaration of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission. Pence will launch his campaign with a video and a speech in the early nominating state of Iowa on Wednesday, three sources familiar with the situation told Reuters last week…”

Of all the candidates who have decided to run, aside from perhaps Ron DeSantis, this one comes as one of the least surprising and yet, I and I’m sue many others are asking themselves why.

If Ron DeSantis doesn’t have a chance, I think it should go without saying that Mike Pence clearly doesn’t either. I would be absolutely shocked if he finished with more than a low single digit percentage of the vote if he even…
