Why Do Democrats Hype Up Kamala Harris?
She just isn’t an effective communicator.

I suppose there’s no denying that Kamala Harris definitely had a shining moment or two during her Presidential campaign. Obviously for those of us who follow politics it’s impossible to forget when she told Joe Biden how she was directly impacted by bussing, with the infamous “that little girl was me” line that arguably set the tone for the entire night.
But whew…since then, the word disappointment would be an understatement.
I suppose I could begin by encouraging anyone who happens to be reading this to watch the show VEEP on HBO if they’re able to and haven’t done so already. The parallels are…uncanny to say the least, and she recently had yet another VEEP-esque moment on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert when discussing protests and public pushback to the Willow Project.
When asked about if there was discussion in the White House about potential blowback for approving the oil drilling project, Harris responded:
“Well, I think that the concerns are based on what we should all be concerned about. But the solutions have to be and include what we are doing in terms of going forward, in terms of investments.”
…What?
It’s just yet another one of those moments where you find yourself sort of shaking your head, wondering why on earth has she been so hyped up? Why, exactly, has she been elevated?
It feels almost like she is uncomfortable in her roll, and to be honest I can’t really blame her. It doesn’t seem as though she and Biden get along particularly well, and there’s no denying she’s certainly not really being put into a position to succeed. You can absolutely bet that she knows that, and so does her team. On the other hand, there’s an argument to be made that this is the type of situation where we could potentially find out what leaders are made of, and — as much as “K-Hive” might hate to admit it, I’m not sure we’ve seen gives us any indication she’s going to be able to win a Presidential election.
I mean, it’s gotten to the point where we’ve seen rumblings that Biden’s not going to select her as his running mate for re-election.
But of course, we all know he will because the donor class wants to see her succeed. Badly. And we know she certainly has her following on Twitter. But they’re not going to win her an election. Kamala Harris isn’t going to cost Biden any votes, but she certainly hasn’t done anything during her years as Vice President to earn herself more support, either.
