Well, it seems all but official that it’s now the Kamala Harris show, with the Vice President having pledged support from enough delegates ahead of the convention to ensure that she will likely be the Democratic nominee.

So, what’s next?

How should Harris’ campaign staff approach the coming days and weeks in a way that will ensure they have the best chance of success?

Obviously, a big part of that will be the selection of a running mate. Who is she going to officially go into the general election with that’s going to help optimize their chances, and bring something to the table that the campaign could use some more of?

Of course all we can do now is speculate on names and who we think it should be, but personally I feel as though it should be someone to the left of her and for a multitude of reasons.

Kamala Harris cannot afford to lose the momentum she has gained. Not when time is so limited and you want people to continue to be excited about voting for you. Naturally, some of the most animated and excited potential voters have been the young people, and she has generated quite a bit of momentum with young voters. It cannot be understated just how valuable that demographic is going to be heading…
