What is Kyrsten Sinema’s End Game?

I can’t help considering what the Arizona Senator hopes to gain from her obstruction.

I wish I could ignore Kyrsten Sinema, and refrain from giving her the attention she seems to crave. But considering the critical and intentional role she is playing in government obstruction, it doesn’t feel as though that’s an option. For months she has seemed to relish in her role of preventing the Democratic Party from getting anything done with her unilateral control, and being the face of the will of the donors as opposed to the people, so it’s admittedly hard not enough to contain my frustration towards her. But after her refusal to even show up to vote for a commission to investigate the events leading up and on January 6th, one can’t help questioning what the Arizona Senator’s underlying motives actually are.

Of course, the obvious factor is the donors. The way that elections are financed alone is enough to lead us to assume that Sinema is acting on behalf of the moneyed interests who funded her campaign. That said, I would not be surprised if there were some deeper interests at play beneath the surface.

At this point, part of me wonders if Senator Sinema even has any interest in governing at all. It doesn’t seem all that far fetched to imagine her deciding not to run for re-election…
