What is Going On With Rep. Lauren Boebert?
Especially in comparison to some of her Republican counterparts like Mitch McConnell, Marjorie Greene, or Kevin McCarthy, it’s been fairly quiet in regards to the headlines for Colorado congresswoman Lauren Boebert. That is, until recently at least.
Given her history I suppose it really should come as no surprise that Boebert found herself getting kicked out of the theater in Denver this week. But, the story of course gets even more interesting.
John Fritze with USA Today writes:
“Rep. Lauren Boebert, the Colorado Republican who was kicked out of a performance of the musical “Beetlejuice” last weekend for disruptive behavior, apologized for the incident, saying she “fell short of my values.”
The statement followed widely shared surveillance video that appeared to show her vaping inside the Denver theater.
“The past few days have been difficult and humbling, and I’m truly sorry for the unwanted attention my Sunday evening in Denver has brought to the community,” Boebert’s apology read, according to several media outlets. “While none of my actions or words as a private citizen that night were intended to be malicious or meant to cause harm, the reality is they did and I regret that.”…”
Ah, but it gets better.
There’s also surveillance footage of Boebert and her boyfriend groping each other in the middle of the crowded theatre. A theater that also happened to be packed with kids.
I mean, where do we even begin?
I can’t even begin to imagine what the reaction would be like if this was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rashida Tlaib, or any Democrat for that matter. There would be no recovery for them. Their career would be done with, and they would be on the outside looking in before they even really had a chance to give an actual apology. Of course, it would be thanks largely to lawmakers like Lauren Boebert herself, who we all know without a shadow of a doubt would not rest until a Democrat who had done this was punished.
These people are absolutely shameless.
