What Can We Expect From Mike Pence During the GOP’s First Primary Debate?
I’m still trying to figure out why he’s running.
Out of all the names that have thrown their names into the ring for the GOP nomination, aside from Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, former Vice President Mike Pence was the name that I was the least surprised by. As bizarre as it might seem to have the man currently despised more than arguably anyone else in the Republican Party deciding to run for President, I can easily understand how he could have been talked into it. The donor class made their bed with their decision to get behind Donald Trump, and it’s amusing to watch them attempt to get out of it. You could see why some might approach Mike Pence, considering everything that transpired leading up to the 2020 election when he was literally running for his life from Trump supporters who wanted to hang him.
But what can we expect from him in the upcoming GOP debate? How, exactly, is Pence going to approach the circumstances where he now finds himself debating the man who he not only served with as Vice President, but attempted to get him killed?
