Wait, Rep. Marjorie Greene is Running For Governor of Georgia?
I thought it was strange she wasn’t going to run for Senate. Well, now we know why.
As I and others have remarked in recent months, there are few who have done a better job of sustaining their relevance within the GOP during the era of Donald Trump than Georgia Representative Marjorie Greene. Perhaps there’s no better testament to that than the fact that she has been the best small donor fundraiser since her rise to power, and as a result she has done well to demand the attention she craves.
It seemed only natural, then, that the next step would be running for Senate. As much as Greene might hate her job-or at least leave us with that impression with the way she complains about it and her fellow lawmakers-it felt like the love for power and relevance might lead to another step in her rise to power. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who found themselves surprised when she insisted she was not going to challenge Ossoff for that seat.
Well, it turns out she has a different seat in mind.
Greene is considering a run for Governor of Georgia.
