There’s no denying the success of the right wing in recent decades. We see the signs of it everywhere, every day don’t we? Whether it’s a coworker telling you they’ve taken a second job because they can’t afford rent, or a loved one whose pregnant but is terrified about access to an abortion in her state, we are living it. We are living through the success of the conservative strategy since the 70s, and it feels as though the consequences continue to mount.

Having said all that, it’s important to consider the tactics behind all of their success as well. The courts, of course. That’s been the heart of it, and their capture of the judicial system has ensured their policies will live on for decades to come, regardless of how unpopular they are. But then, we can’t leave out their tactic of bombardment, either. They have this ability to come from all different directions, attacking from all sorts of angles, and at times — by design — it feels almost impossible to keep up. Where do you look? What do you prioritize? While we focus attention on one thing, what are they doing in the background?

Well, in the case of Ron DeSantis in Florida, his latest target just so happens to be unions.
