There is No Such thing as a “Low Skilled” Worker.
NYC’s Mayor Eric Adams would lead you to believe otherwise, though.
Eric Adams has been mayor for a grand total of nine days, but that hasn’t prevented him from already managing to make headlines and attract the ire of many on the left. At a recent press conference where he discussed his intentions of getting the New York’s workers back into the office, Adams said:
“My low skill workers, cooks, my dishwashers, my messengers, my shoe shine people, those who work in Dunkin Donuts, they don’t have the academic skills to sit in a corner office.”
It appears this is Adams’ unfortunate idea of advocating for these workers he deems “low skill”.
There is absolutely no such thing as a low skill worker.
I worked at Dunkin Donuts during the summer when I was home from college, and at Aeropostale in the mall when I was at school. The Dunkin Donuts job in particular was unequivocally the most difficult job I will ever have.
