“No exceptions to abortion bans, except for the life of the mother.”

The life of the mother.

They really think it’s just that simple, don’t they, the anti-choice activists?

Following the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, in states across the country anti-choice activists and evangelical christians responsible for writing the draconian anti-abortion laws that took effect are continuing to relish in their victory. They roll their eyes and scoff at the pro-choice narrative. Of course there will be exceptions for the life of the mother, they insist, as though it’s ridiculous we would even consider otherwise. Even setting aside the fact that no such exceptions exist in Louisiana, it boggles the mind just how clear cut they seem to think it is.

“When the mother’s life is in jeopardy, that’s different.”

“Get the facts straight…”

Except, as uncomfortable as it might be for them to admit and the fact that it might take away from their sense of moral superiority, there’s just one problem with the whole “life of the mother” exception idea…
