The Right Wing’s Upcoming Target is the U.S. Constitution. Literally.

Reports indicate the GOP and its funders are actively engaged in a scheme to get a convention called in order to re-write the constitution.

Considering the overturning of Roe vs. Wade alone, it should go without saying that people have been paying a significant amount of attention to what the next moves of the right wing are going to be. Whether it be overturning gay marriage, the reimplementation of sodomy laws, or taking away contraceptives, it’s difficult not to feel helpless as they systematically destroy everything people have worked so hard to achieve over the decades.

Well, thanks to a report by Grace Panetta and Brent Griffiths with Business Insider, we now know that they are literally planning a systematic, state-by-state effort to call a convention, and re-write the constitution of the United States.

The article begins by discussing Rick Santorum, stating:

“…“You take this grenade and you pull the pin, you’ve got a live piece of ammo in your hands,” Santorum, a two-time GOP presidential candidate and former CNN commentator, explained in audio of his remarks obtained by the left-leaning watchdog group the Center for Media and Democracy and shared with Insider. “34 states — if every Republican legislator votes for this, we have a constitutional convention.”…”

Business insider continues on to discuss the fact that following dozens of interviews and documents they have obtained, they found a “sprawling, well-funded — at least partly by cryptocurrency — and impassioned campaign” for a constitutional convention.

The article continued on to say:

“…This isn’t an exercise, either. State lawmakers are invited to huddle in Denver starting on Sunday to learn more about the inner workings of a possible constitutional convention at Academy of States 3.0, the third installment of a boot camp preparing state lawmakers “in anticipation of an imminent Article V Convention.”

Rob Natelson, a constitutional scholar and senior fellow at the Independence Institute who closely studies Article V of the Constitution, predicted to Insider there’s a 50%…
