The Right Wing Really Wants Us to Know How Much They Hate Trans People.

When the right wing takes power, we know who they’ll be targeting next.

On some level, it feels almost too easy to dismiss lawmakers like Marjorie Greene doesn’t it? Within the legislative spaces, she’s on the fringes, right? She’s got virtually no support within the halls of power, and even some of the most ardent right wingers can’t stand her. And yet, as we’ve been over before, she’s one of the top fundraisers for the Republican Party, and there’s absolutely no denying that she has her fingers on the pulse of the right wing base. She knows how to get a headline, and takes pride in revealing herself to be the monster that she is.

Well, when the right wing takes power again, Greene has had no problem showing us exactly what she plans to do.

Brook Migdon and Emily Brooks with The Hill write:

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) introduced a bill Friday that would make providing gender-affirming medical care to transgender minors a felony, punishable by up to 25 years in prison.

Greene’s “Protect Children’s Innocence Act” outlaws more than a dozen medical interventions and procedures used to treat gender dysphoria in transgender young people, including puberty blockers, hormone therapy and certain kinds of surgeries done “for the purpose of changing the body of such individual to correspond to a sex that differs from their biological sex.”

The measure would also prohibit using federal funds for gender-affirming health care, including in Affordable Healthcare Act plans…

…Greene’s bill has 14 Republican cosponsors so far: Reps. Mary Miller (Ill.), Jeff Duncan (S.C.), Bob Good (Va.), Ralph Norman (S.C.), Matt Gaetz (Fla.), Tony Gonzales (Texas), Rep. Diana Harshbarger (Tenn.), Clay Higgins (La.), Burgess Owens (Utah), Claudia Tenney (N.Y.), Andrew Clyde (Ga.), Lance Gooden (Texas), Lauren Boebert (Colo.) and Paul Gosar (AZ)…”

There is absolutely nothing that the right wing does better than vilifying and directing hatred towards the most marginalized people in a society. They take an immense amount of pride in it, and have no shame whatsoever in jeopardizing someone’s health, safety…
