The reconciliation bill is dead. Progressives need to vote no.

Wealthy leeches and their puppets in government destroyed it.

From the beginning of the process in drafting the reconciliation bill that was theoretically supposed to be the foundation of Joe Biden’s legacy and a delivery on key campaign promises, I’ve been determined not to get my hopes up. Obviously for good reason, considering the democratic party’s objective failure and preference to campaign on issues rather than do anything to better the circumstances for their constituents. As many on the left expected, the reconciliation bill has been gutted to nothing more than a shell of what it was supposed to be, with democrats gutting a generous paid family leave time, two years of tuition free community college, and making the child tax cuts permanent. There’s even a question as to whether or not the fundamentally necessary climate provisions will make it into the bill.

Despite all the concessions that have been made on their behalf, corrupt, corporate puppets like Senator Joe Manchin of west Virginia still have not even guaranteed they will vote for the bill. To top it all off, Manchin has now denounced the plans to tax billionaires in an effort to pay for what’s even left, calling it “divisive”.
