The Polls Have Spoken: Democrats Don’t Want Biden to Run Again.
So what does that mean for potential primary challengers?
Since before he was even officially elected President, talks of Biden running for reelection have certainly been a topic of discussion, and understandably so considering his age. The man is going to be in his 80s, and it’s only natural for people to wonder if it’s a smart idea to give him another four years in office. Unfortunately, it should come as no surprise that Biden will be announcing plans to run again, potentially in the coming days.
Interesting, considering polls have shown that voters don’t want him to run again.
Michael Collins with USA Today writes:
“As President Joe Biden prepares to announce his re-election campaign next week, a new poll shows once again that many Democrats would prefer someone else.
Only half of Democrats, or 47%, think Biden should run again in 2024, according to The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll. Overall, just 26% of Americans want him to run.
The good news: 78% of Democrats said they approve of the job Biden is doing, and 81% said they would probably vote for him in the general election if he’s the nominee. Forty-one percent said they’d definitely…
