The NFL, Jerry Jones, and the Embodiment of Billionaire Greed.
The way he treats his players is just another indictment of the ultra rich.
I love football.
I enjoy everything about it. I love college football, I love the draft, I love free agency, I love a cozy winter’s day curled up on the couch watching commercial free football on Red Zone, and of course I love my Buffalo Bills. As we all know the regular NFL season has come to a close, and with that week 18 brought a lot of fairly weird, entertaining games. There was a fun mix of what felt like preseason games where teams rested their starters in preparation for the postseason like my Bills, and then there was the players who were attempting to seek the bonus incentives for their contracts and earning a little extra money.
That’s where Jerry Jones and his Dallas Cowboys come in.
Their backup quarterback Cooper Rush has played the majority of the season filling in for Dak Prescott. He has been an adequate backup and did his job as one would expect. If he had played week 18, he would have earned a $250,000 bonus because his contract states he gets that bonus if he plays a certain percentage of snaps in a season. Playing week 18 would have guaranteed him that money, and the Cowboys sat him.
