The GOP’s estimation of Democratic lawmakers is a lot higher than mine.

Or at least, that’s what their rhetoric would lead you to believe.

In all honesty it’s difficult to even know where to begin when considering the GOP here in the United States, and attempting to address everything they have been up to. Whether it be a renewed war against Sesame Street or their borderline criminal, deliberate spread of misinformation regarding a deadly pandemic, I genuinely don’t even know how we’re supposed to keep up with it all. But perhaps the most frustrating aspect of it is that’s exactly what they want.

In the latest saga of manufactured conspiracy theories and outright lies, a certain Texas GOP congressman by the name of Ronny Jackson had a lot to say regarding the new Omicron covid-19 variant.

On Twitter, he wrote:

“Here comes the MEV — the Midterm Election Variant! They NEED a reason to push unsolicited nationwide mail-in ballots. Democrats will do anything to CHEAT during an election — but we’re not going to let them!”

Let’s just take a second to imagine if the Democratic party — or any political party in the entire world for that matter — were that powerful. Imagine a world where the Democratic party was so powerful that they successfully colluded with doctors in South Africa, who then said they have found a new covid variant of concern they believe originated within the body of a patient who has been unable to shake the virus, and get dozens of countries to report cases of said variant all in an effort to make sure Democrats retain control after the midterms.

As if it wasn’t absurd enough, let’s take a moment to reflect upon the political party in question. A Democratic party so borderline criminally negligent and deliberately ineffectual they can’t even bring themselves to deliver a minimum wage increase for workers who haven’t seen one in 12 years when they have control of the white house, senate, and house of representatives. We’re talking about a political party that tries for bipartisanship with Mitch McConnell, who literally said the highlight of his political…
