Did the right wing take Twitter to kill it?
The spiral of Twitter under the ownership of Elon Musk continues, and at a pace I don’t think even the most pessimistic among us anticipated. At this moment, the website is operating with a skeleton screw following Elon Musk sending his employees an email stating that they either work “hardcore” with long hours and high performance expectations, or they can take three months of severance.
Not exactly surprising how that turned out for him, is it?
While I highly doubt Twitter is going to disappear entirely, at this point it seems inevitable that within a few days, the place is going to be an entirely different experience. But all that being said, at the end of the day we can certainly consider this an interesting lesson about not just Elon Musk, but billionaires and the right wing in general.
All it takes is a quick scroll through Elon Musk’s Twitter feed to see how deeply unserious he is treating this entire situation, and it’s enough to make you genuinely wonder if he’s doing this on purpose. The entire thing is a joke to him, and regardless of how someone might personally feel about Twitter, it’s absolutely bizarre that what has widely been considered a necessary global public…
