Suddenly Donald Trump Wants to Debate?

Evidently he wants to debate Joe Biden, but not his fellow Republicans.

Ah, Donald Trump.

It’s always something. As the election season has unfolded the former President seeking reelection has certainly not missed a beat. No matter what problems have come his way it seems a given at this point that he’s always going to rise above it untouched. Given the hold that he has on the base it should come as no surprise that he has managed to sail through this election, and assert himself as the presumptive GOP nominee with ease.

Perhaps one of the most noteworthy pieces of it has been his absence from the debates with his fellow GOP candidates. He essentially refused to even acknowledge him, and the message that he was sending to the base was absolutely clear. Trump’s absence alone was enough to remind voters who runs the GOP, and that the whole spectacle of a debate with his peers was beneath him.

Of course, now that he’s cemented himself as the favorite, Trump’s eager to get back on the stage. This time, opposite Joe Biden.

Jessica Glenza with The Guardian writes:

Joe Biden has dismissed calls from his White House predecessor Donald Trump to “immediately” schedule a presidential debate.
