Starbucks Workers Have Had Enough, and Bernie Sanders is in Their Corner.
Bernie’s standing in solidarity, and we have to as well.
Have you ever been a barista?
Personally, I worked at Dunkin’ and it’s an experience I don’t think I will ever forget. Whether it be the creepy older man who approached multiple coworkers to ask when I was working again, throwing up due to anxiety every single morning before work, or the manager who is now apparently being reported to the Department of Labor because of how hostile and abusive she is to her employees, let’s just say it’s not easy. At all. As someone who has also worked in healthcare in a nursing home during a pandemic, I can say with confidence there is literally not enough money in the world you could pay me to go back to my job at Dunkin.
As virtually anyone who follows the news knows by now, Starbucks workers have had enough, and have been organizing unionization efforts across the country in order to the better pay and working conditions that they deserve. Of course, it should come as no surprise that they have been met with opposition at virtually every turn from Starbucks. But now, workers are upping the ante and organizing a three day strike at 100 stores in the United States.
