I can’t believe it’s come to this.
At a rally in Pennsylvania, someone tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
It still feels surreal to even say it and when the news broke it was difficult for it to even sink in. You can already envision the image of him raising his fist to the crowd as secret service surround him and usher him off the stage being printed in the history textbooks, and you can feel the fundamental shift in the dynamics of the election.
I can’t believe it’s come to this, and the more little details we learn the more bizarre it becomes.
We’ve seen the videos of the secret service team surveilling the shooter from a roof top near where Trump spoke, and heard the stories about how some nearby people had been frantically trying to get people to pay attention as the shooter crawled along the roof.
And then, well, there’s those online who looked up the shooter and found out he is apparently a registered Republican, and it only gets more complicated the more we learn.
