So…Where Does Donald Trump Stand On Abortion Rights?

The former President says one thing, his campaign says another.

Obviously, it’s been quite an interesting couple of months when it comes to the United States election. A lot has changed since before Joe Biden and Donald Trump took the debate stage, and of course the former President is still trying to adjust to Kamala Harris being his new opponent. But in recent days we’ve circled back to the conversation surrounding abortion and reproductive rights in general, and were exactly Donald Trump stands on those two critical issues that seemed poised to having a profound impact on the way people vote in this upcoming election.

So, what’s the answer?

Sarah McCammon with NPR writes:

“Former President Donald Trump indicated he would vote in favor of abortion rights in his home state of Florida, where it is on the ballot. Saying he thinks the “six week [ban] is too short,” he said he favored “more time.”

When asked explicitly, “so you’ll vote in favor of the amendment?”, Trump seemed to affirm that he would.

“I’m going to be voting that we need more than six weeks,” he told NBC News in an interview, before saying he favored exceptions in abortion law for the life of the mother, rape and incest…
