So, Trump is Calling For the Impeachment of Mitch McConnell?

Problem is…you cannot impeach a Senator.

With the midterms rapidly approaching and big name politicians on the GOP side in particular setting their sights on 2024, it should come as no surprise that Trump is already gearing up for the primary and likely has been since he left office in 2020. Apparently his team is eyeing the third week in November to potentially make the announcement.

Oh but that’s not all.

He has already indicated he has plans for Mitch McConnell as well.

During a radio interview, Trump said:

“It’s crazy, what’s happening with this debt ceiling. Mitch McConnell keeps allowing this to happen. They ought to impeach Mitch McConnell, if he allows that. … They have something on him, how he approves this thing is incredible.”

Ah, so he wants McConnell impeached?

Well unfortunately for him, the obvious point worth noting here is the fact that you cannot impeach a Senator.

That being said, it really gives a fascinating window into how Donald Trump plans to run the executive…
