Well, President Joe Biden has all but officially announced his run for re-election.

Reuters reports:

“U.S. President Joe Biden said on Monday he plans to run for reelection in 2024 but was not prepared to announce it yet.

“I plan on running … but we’re not prepared to announce it yet,” Biden said in an interview with NBC’s “Today” show before the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Biden has said he intends to be the Democratic candidate in 2024 but has not made a formal announcement. Both Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have said they will run together…”

I suppose we all saw this coming, right?

As much as those of us on the left might not want him to run, and the numbers pointing to it not being a good idea, there was no way Biden was going to sit this one out. But, as obvious as all of that might seem given the way he’s been talking about it, we should certainly talk about why. After all, whenever a politician does anything, it’s important to consider the motives.

Personally, I think Biden’s making this decision because he feels as though he has no other choice. He sees the numbers. He sees the disapproval rating…
