So, How Are House Republicans Holding Up?

The new House leadership is off to the start you would expect.

So, the Republicans in the House seem to be off to a good start, don’t they?

After three rounds of voting, we still had no Speaker of the House. Oh, and Matt Gaetz is now accusing Kevin McCarthy of occupying the office of the Speaker of the House, and wrote a letter “demanding answers” from the Architect of the Capitol. Following the three unsuccessful rounds of voting, members dispersed and a cart full of pizzas was sent to Kevin McCarthy’s office as he hunkered down with his team in an effort to get the votes before the voting resumed. A mess. As to be expected, of course.

Well here we are now eleven rounds of voting later, and we still have no Speaker of the House.

This is what happens when people are elected who have absolutely no interest in governing. It’s all yet another reminder that the modern Republican Party isn’t designed to get anything done, isn’t it? They’re nothing more than agents of chaos, who simply want the opportunity to elevate themselves in the eyes of the base in order to attain and retain power.
