So Donald Trump’s Fundraising Off of the Death of His Ex-Wife Ivana.

The lack of shame or awareness is kind of incredible.

As most have heard by now, the first wife of former President Donald Trump, Ivana, passed away unexpectedly in her home due to what a medical examiner determined was an accident, likely a fall. Nothing about this news really grabbed my attention until, of course, I happened to stumble across a tweet from Andrea Mitchell that pointed out how Donald Trump himself was responding it.

He released the standard statement, of course.

In an email to his supporters he shared a screenshot of his statement he’d posted on his social media website, where he wrote:

“I am very saddened to inform all of those who loved her, of which there are many, that Ivana Trump has passed away at her home in New York City. She was a wonderful, beautiful, and amazing woman, who led a great and inspirational life. Her pride and joy were her three children, Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. She was so proud of them, as we were all so proud of her. Rest in peace, Ivana!”

Underneath the screenshot of the statement about the death of his first wife and the mother of three of his children was, naturally, a link to “donate to save America”.
