Should Bernie Sanders Run in 2024?
Polling seems to indicate he might at least have a shot.
I suppose I should begin by saying I think, as Bernie himself has said in the past, the chances of him running in 2024 are very, very slim. Not only that, but even though I would absolutely support him in the primary should he chose to run, I’m not exactly sure I would want him to. He has been through it twice already, and I would love nothing more than to see him spend his twilight years enjoying quiet time with his family as he deserves. Considering the fact that he didn’t even want to run in the first place in 2016, I have a feeling that it would take quite a bit of convincing among his staff and loved ones to get him to do it. That is, even if they wanted him to in the first place.
All that being said, if by some slim chance the Senator from Vermont did decide to run again in 2024, some polling seems to indicate he would at least have a shot.
Just recently, Bernie’s Director of Communications Mike Casca tweeted:
“In the latest harvard/harris poll, Senator Sanders is the only democrat with a positive net approval rating.”
Casca also included a graphic of the poll results.
