What does this mean for her going for?

Ah, Kyrsten Sinema.

The Arizona Senator hasn’t exactly done herself many favors throughout her tenure in the Senate, has she? A tenure where she seemed bound and determined to give the very people who elected her the middle finger at every term, and those who knocked on on doors to make it possible as well. It wasn’t exactly a surprise to see her fall out of favor with the Democrats in the state of Arizona, and obviously, given her propensity for ticking people off, it seemed only fitting that she would make a show of switching her party affiliation to Independent.

And then, well…decided she’s not running again.

Alexandra Marquez, Sahil Kapur and Julie Tsirkin with NBC writes:

“Independent Sen. Kyrsten Sinema announced Tuesday that she will not run for re-election this year, leaving the Senate after one term that saw her paint Arizona blue, leave the Democratic Party and play a key role in numerous legislative negotiations in a tightly divided Senate.

“Because I choose civility, understanding, listening, working together to get stuff done, I will leave the Senate at the end of this year,” Sinema said in a video posted on her X account.
