Senator Feinstein Was Absent For Months, and Doesn’t Remember.

At this point, her sitting in the Senate is elder abuse.

The images of California Senator Diane Feinstein returning to congress after a months long battle with shingles were…quite something. She looked frail and exhausted, and that’s putting it as kindly as I possibly can. The images alone were enough for people to question yet again why she’s not retiring especially given the public concerns about dementia but of course, it doesn’t end there.

Apparently it gets even worse.

Ken Klippenstein with The Intercept shared screenshots from an article in Slate that said:

“…When the fellow reporter asked her what the response from her colleagues had been like since her return, though, the conversation took an odd turn.

“No, I haven’t been gone,” she said.

OK.

“You should follow the — I haven’t been gone. I’ve been working.”

When asked whether she meant that she’d been working from home, she turned feisty.

“No, I’ve been here. I’ve been voting,” she said. “Please. You either know or don’t know.”

After deflecting one final question about those, like Rep. Ro Khanna, who’ve called on her…
