Senate Democrats like to tweet, but will they end the filibuster?

Progressive politicians like AOC are noticing the trend, too.

As frustrated as I can get with electoral politics, I will never, ever be one to say it does not matter. While I certainly don’t feel as though we can merely vote our way out of the problems our country faces, there is no denying that elections absolutely have consequences. Consequences that, as a matter of fact, we are living through right now as the Supreme court that saw three justices appointed under Donald Trump now appears prepped to gut Roe vs. Wade. It still hasn’t sunk in that in June, even after decades upon decades of precedent upholding the case that says women have the right to an abortion, the court appears ready to side with Mississippi in their move to ban this critical piece of reproductive healthcare beyond 15 weeks.

All that being said, of course the Democratic party — senate Democrats in particular — seem to be responding to this devastating, critical moment exactly as we might expect: tweeting.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s Twitter account weighed in, writing:

“ELECT DEMOCRATS TO PROTECT ABORTION RIGHTS!”
