Sen. Joe Manchin Just Continues to Get Even Worse.
I can’t wait until the West Virginia Senator is out of office.
It’s no secret that of all “centrist” politicians in Washington D.C., I’m not sure there are any that I dislike more than West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin. Kyrsten Sinema might be a little bit higher up on the list, but certainly not by much. The man has been clear about who he is throughout the entirety of his career, and has not held back in giving a middle finger to Democrats and the left any chance he could find, particularly during President Biden’s tenure. You got the sense that he very much enjoyed essentially making himself the de facto President, the fact that those around him were too spineless to challenge him, and getting his way on virtually whatever he wanted. Now, on his way out the door Manchin opened up a bit about some of the dynamics with the White House.
Filip Timotija with The Hill writes:
“West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin (I) said President Biden “went completely insane on me” over the senator’s initial opposition to the American Rescue Plan, the president’s first major piece of legislation.
“I was going to kill the whole bill. Then the president went completely insane on me,” Manchin said in an interview with news outlet Semafor that was published Thursday.
