Sometimes, it feels like fun and games when it comes to Ron DeSantis. We watch him attempt to navigate the beginnings of a national Presidential campaign that’s all but doomed before it even begins, and it’s genuinely satisfying to know he’s being forced to lie in the bed he made.

But of course, it never takes long for DeSantis to remind us of exactly how dangerous he is and what he’s willing to do to the people of Florida.

Daniel Villarreal with LGBT Nation writes:

“Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) has signed the “Protections of Medical Conscience Act,” a law that allows healthcare providers or payors to deny service on the basis of “a conscience-based objection,” including any ethical, moral, or religious beliefs. The bill provides no definition for what constitutes a “moral” or “ethical” belief…

…The law allows any medical provider — including doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers, pharmacists, mental health professionals, lab technicians, nursing home workers, and hospital administrators — as well as insurance companies and payment entities, the right to deny care on the basis of any conscientious objection. This care can include refusing to conduct research and recordkeeping or denying medical tests, diagnoses, referrals, medications, and therapy, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) notes…”

I genuinely don’t know how much more evil, vindictive, cruel, and disturbing it can possibly get.

Say you come to the hospital with severe pain in your side, sweating and nauseous, potentially suffering from a ruptured appendix. In the state of Florida, if the doctor suspects that you are LGBT, they now legally do not have to treat you, leaving you to get even sicker and develop a potentially deadly infection.

They will legally be able to let you potentially die because your identity goes against their “religious” beliefs.

This is their idea of moral. This is their idea of ethical. This is their idea of what religion — christianity in particular — is.

But, the hypocrisy has always been the point, right? It’s by design. It is designed to cause frustration. Fear. It’s…
