Ron DeSantis’ Campaign is Officially Over, Right?
I’m calling it now.
I’m sure I wasn’t alone in noting how significant the past GOP debate felt for candidates not named Donald Trump. From the very beginning it felt as though no one outside of Trump had a shot at the nomiantion, and with limited opportunities to really showcase themselves on a national stage eah appearance on the debate stage was of the upmost importance for candidates like Ron DeSantis. I couldn’t help coming to the conclusion that the past debate would determine his future in this race, and unfortunately for him it appears to have had the opposite effect of what he had intended.
He’s slipping even further in New Hampshire.
David Jackson with USA Today writes:
“A new poll shows Nikki Haley is rising in New Hampshire, leaving Ron DeSantis trailing in the 2024 GOP primary field that continues to be dominated by Donald Trump.
While Trump stands at 46% in a Washington Post/Monmouth University poll released Friday, Haley is in a solid second at 18% — and DeSantis is in fifth.
The Florida governor is at 7%, behind former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (11%) and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy (8%)…”
Personally, I’m ready to call it.
