Rep. Matt Gaetz is Accusing the FBI of Protecting the Biden Family.
Anything for a headline.
Every election cycle, we see the Republican Party zero in on a handful of topics that they’ve determined will get their base as riled up as possible. Setting aside the fact that it’s led to a disturbing trend of the GOP moving further and further right, there is a piece of me that finds it at least a little bit amusing that they spend so much time shamelessly focusing on the pressing issues such as “woke culture”. Now of course, one of the hot button issues just so happens to be Hunter Biden and the infamous laptop, and Rep. Matt Gaetz wasn’t going to shy away from the opportunity during the oversight committee hearing with the FBI to discuss the Biden family.
In fact, he demanded to know if the FBI was protecting them.
Ryan King with The New York Post writes:
“…Gaetz (R-Fla.) opened his questioning during a House Judiciary Committee hearing by reading a WhatsApp message from July 30, 2017, in which Hunter Biden demanded money from a Chinese business associate.
“Sounds like a shakedown, doesn’t it, Director?” Gaetz asked.
When Wray declined to opine, Gaetz lit into him.
