Rep. Marjorie Greene All But Confirms They’re Coming For Social Security.
They’re laying the foundations to change the program forever.
Every single day, we seem to be reminded of just how significant this past election was, how badly Democrats fumbled it, and how the right wing is wasting absolutely no time in seizing the moment just like so many of us feared they would. Among them, of course, is none other than President Trump’s protogee’ and Georgia lawmaker Marjorie Greene. She continues to maintain her relevance, and uses it in order to help build narratives with a base that clearly likes what she has to offer.
This time, it’s about social security.
Martha Mchardy with Newsweek writes:
“…Georgia Representative Greene posted on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday that using identity verification software would prevent fraudulent Social Security payments.
“During my first DOGE Committee hearing, it was exposed that nearly $1 TRILLION dollars per year of fraudulent and improper payments could be saved simply by putting identify verification software on federal government payment processors,” she wrote.
“This would stop checks from being sent to dead people, illegals, and criminals in foreign countries just by verifying people’s identity. Think about it. You have to verify your identity many times a day just to complete basic tasks.”
Her comments follow those of President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, who claimed that millions of Americans aged over 100 are receiving Social Security benefits…”
Yeah, they’re coming for social security.
Exactly like we predicted they would.
Let’s be clear, they’re laying the foundation. This is exactly the type of stuff that’s said and done in order to help foster a sense of mistrust. These politicians want the American people not to trust social security, and believe it’s failing. They want us to believe it’s rife with fraud so that they can get people to buy into the idea of cutting it or privatizing it.
What do you even say?
The greed knows no bounds. This is a program that’s been around for decades, and was an agreement between the government and the American people. An agreement that the right wing government now wants to break. My generation has already come to just expect that social security as we know it is not going to be around for us. And yet, it’s taken out of my paycheck every single week. They’ve already stolen from us by raising the age we’re expected to draw from it.
Sometimes I just don’t even have the energy to be angry. We’ve all seen this type of stuff coming, and before we even blink and we’re going to look around and they’ll have robbed us. That’s exactly what they’re doing, and they can’t get away with trying to suggest otherwise.
