Rep. Jim Jordan and Rep. Steve Scalise Have Decided to Run For Speaker.

As virtually anyone with access to the television or the internet has heard by now, lawmakers in congress made the historic decision to oust GOP congressman Kevin McCarthy from his position as the Speaker of the House. Personally, I could not care less about what this means for Kevin McCarthy and any future ambitions he might have, but it’s satisfying nonetheless to see Republican infighting escalate to this level. Of course following the ousting of Kevin McCarthy, obviously it was a matter of time before someone stepped up to try and advantage of the situation and get the job.

Leave it to none other than Representatives Jim Jordan and Steve Scalise to immediately throw their names into the ring.

“Jim Jordan of Ohio and Steve Scalise of Louisiana announced Wednesday that they would seek to succeed Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the US House of Representatives, after the Californian was brutally removed by his own Republican party on Tuesday.

Jordan is chair of the powerful judiciary committee, while Scalise is the majority leader. Both had been named as potential successors to McCarthy, and they confirmed their intentions to run…
