President Biden’s Most Recent Handling of Israel Continues to Disappoint.
The President has no backbone even when it comes to doing what he can to prevent genocide, and people took notice.
While my expectations for Joe Biden were never particularly high when he took office, it’s fair to say that for myself and I would guess many others on the left, few things have been as disappointing as his attitude towards and placation to the state of Israel.
Of course, it should come as no surprise that recently, headlines have reminded us that that trend continues.
Owen Jones with The Guardian writes:
“…The case in point here starts with a letter that the US sent to Israel last month, which set out in detail how life-saving aid was being systematically blocked from entering Gaza and threatened undefined action if specific demands to reverse the siege were not taken within 30 days. As the Democratic senator Chris Van Hollen suggested, the letter was a political ruse to woo voters in the run-up to the election (given most Democratic voters correctly believe that Israel is committing genocide).
And what happened? Despite a coalition of aid agencies concluding Israel “failed to meet any of the specific criteria set out in the US…
