Once Again, Marjorie Greene is Inciting Violence.

She has no shame.

Water is wet, the sky is blue, and Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Greene is bound and determined to continue to remain relevant no matter what the cost. Following a school shooting in Tennessee where a trans woman shot and killed three students and three adults at a Christian school in Tennessee, it should come as no surprise that she seized the opportunity to attack trans people. In fact, it got her Twitter account restricted.

Josh Marcus with The Independent writes:

Twitter appears to have limited certain tweets from the official account of representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, after the Georgia Republican made unfounded claims about the Nashville school shooting being a product of “Antifa” and “trans-terrorism.”

Ms Greene shared a screenshot from her personal account, showing a notice from Twitter describing how it had temporarily limited her access to the site for violating its rules.

In another tweet on Tuesday from her personal account, the Republican accused the site of attempting to “whitewash the incitement of politically motivated violence” because it took down a previous post.

It’s incredible, really, how quickly people like Greene will suddenly act as though they care about problems the moment they’re able to use something to benefit their narrative. Gun violence only matters now that she can twist it into something that will target and hurt some of the most vulnerable and disenfranchised people in the country. It didn’t matter when a young man walked into a classroom in Uvalde, Texas, told a bunch of ten year olds it was time to die, and slaughtered them. Didn’t matter then, but suddenly we’re expected to believe she takes this seriously.

She wants her constituents afraid of trans people. That’s what this boils down to. She needs her followers to be suspicious of people they might be tempted to consider “the other”, because as we’ve all come to realize: there’s nothing that motivates the right wing base like fear. It’s in their DNA. They actively seek it, and their so called leaders know that. Their power depends on giving their voters something to be afraid of.

For a long time, it was so easy to dismiss Marjorie Greene as irrelevant, wasn’t it? Bottom of the food chain. No power. No influence. Well, that’s clearly not the case anymore. She has launched her career and catapulted her fame by actively trying to harm marginalized communities and fundraising as she does it, and it would be irresponsible to take that lightly. We often talk about how Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis are fascism personified, but doesn’t Greene fall into that category as well? While I highly doubt that she would be chosen as Trump’s running mate in 2024, there’s no doubt in my mind that it’s at least a strong possibility she finds a position within his administration.

It’s a little unsettling to think about what that position might be, isn’t it?

If you would like to donate and support my writing, it is so appreciated and you can do so through my ko-fi account. I’m saving for nursing school, so it means more than you know!
