Now John Bolton Might be Running in 2024.
What that says about the dynamics within the GOP.
Well, things within the GOP continue to get more interesting.
I almost missed the story but as it turns out, former Trump White House official and notorious right wing war hawk John Bolton is floating the possibility of a Presidential run to challenge Donald Trump for the nomination in 2024.
Kevin Breuninger with CNBC writes:
“John Bolton, who was former President Donald Trump’s national security advisor for more than a year, said Monday he is “absolutely” considering launching a 2024 presidential bid — in large part to challenge Trump.
Bolton, speaking on NBC News’ “Meet The Press Now,” said the “one thing” that would spur him to run would be “to make it clear to the people of this country that Donald Trump is unacceptable as the Republican nominee.”…”
Well that’s an interesting turn of events, isn’t it?
To be clear, it’s obvious that John Bolton doesn’t have any chance whatsoever of winning the nomination, particularly if he’s running against Donald Trump and while he’s certainly many things, I don’t think he’s delusional enough to be under the impression that he has a chance, either. So then, why would he do this? Why would he bother…
