No, the Conviction is Not Handing Trump the Election.

We’re in uncharted territory.

Well, we’re officially in uncharted territory.

Yesterday afternoon, the Judge for Trump’s hush money trial went to dismiss the jury and came back to inform those in the courtroom that instead, he had been given a note and they had reached a verdict. Shortly after, we heard that former President Donald J. Trump was found guilty of all 34 felonies.

There are still multiple more significant trials to go in the coming months, and some who feel this was the weakest case against him.

We’re now in a situation where the presumptive nominee for one of the nation’s leading political parties has been convicted of 34 felonies. Should he win, he would technically not even be able to be hired to work in the West Wing. That’s the situation we’re in today, and it’s going to be fascinating to see where things go from here.

All that being said, I’ve seen lots of talk on social media and even on TV about how some feel this might have handed Trump the election.

Let’s pump the brakes on that, shall we?

I suppose I should begin by saying that of course this is going to embolden his base, at least for the time being, and convince them to come out and vote in droves.
