Nikki Haley is Closing in on Ron DeSantis.
Could she overtake him?
It’s been clear from the beginning that Ron DeSantis has been struggling, and continuing to fail to find his footing in a long, grueling election campaign against the man who is responsible for making his career. It’s the fascinating situation we all saw coming where he was damned if he does run and inevitably loses, and damned if he doesn’t run and misses his moment.
Now, none other than former South Carolina governor and Trump administration diplomat Nikki Haley is catching up to Ron DeSantis in the polls.
Miranda Nazzaro with The Hill writes:
“Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley appears to be a rising threat to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as the two fight to be the top alternative to former President Trump in the 2024 GOP primary, according to a new survey.
The USA Today/Suffolk poll taken last week has Haley garnering 11 percent support among likely Republican voters, about 1 percentage point below DeSantis’s 12.3 percent support…”
I certainly didn’t have Nikki Haley’s emergence on my bingo card for this Republican primary, but here we are. Maybe it’s the fact that the terrifyingly conservative stance on abortion her opponents have taken mange to make her look tame? Nevertheless, she’s slowly but surely…
