Nancy Pelosi is Preventing Social Security Expansion.

Of course she is.

While Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema certainly top the list of the most infuriating Democrats in Washington D.C., Nancy Pelosi’s certainly up there as well for myself and I’m sure countless others on the left. It’s difficult to think of a politician who is more inauthentic and lacking in any ability to communicate like an actual human being. And then of course more importantly, there’s her politics. She is the epicenter of the rot within the Democratic Party, and it’s further decent into corporate control at the expense of the American people.

Well, her recent decision to shelve social security expansion is just the latest example.

In an excellent, lengthy piece for The American Prospect, Lee Harris writes:

“…Social Security 2100, the first expansion to the New Deal program in 50 years, would increase all checks by about 2 percent of the average benefit, offset through a payroll tax on wages above $400,000. The bill, long championed by Rep. John Larson (D-CT) and introduced with nearly 200 co-sponsors, was set for a markup by the Ways and Means Committee in late July, before House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office axed it.
