Mitch McConnell Has Been Pretty Quiet About Trump’s Indictment.
Silence speaks volumes.
Well, Donald Trump has officially become the first former President to be indicted for a crime, and there’s understandably been a lot of noise about this turn of events over the past couple of days. Unsurprisingly, a lot of it has been coming from the Republican Party. Much like he’ll never be able to live down kissing Trump’s ring after he was literally doxxed by the GOP leader, I’m not sure Graham is going to be able to live literally down being in tears as he came to his defense following the indictment news either. And then of course, you have Marjorie Greene being Marjorie Greene, calling for protests in New York following the news. You have media personalities and right wing activists like Charlie Kirk saying that Bill Clinton should be next.
But there’s one giant on the right who has been — notably — absolutely silent.
Republican minority leader Mitch McConnell.
I mean, it’s no secret that the two aren’t exactly friends. In fact, it’s only become increasingly obvious over time that McConnell thoroughly despises Trump, and the feeling is certainly mutual. They represent the faces of two competing, warring forces within the Republican Party, and it’s going to be fascinating to see how McConnell and the moneyed…
