The right wing zealot sees Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as a tool to advance her career.
Regardless of how one might feel about New York’s Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, there’s no denying she is probably one of the most widely known politicians in Washington and, — at least when it comes to electoral politics — one of the most progressive legislators in congress. Since before she even took office, the GOP have been trying to use AOC to elevate themselves, distracting from the fact that they have nothing to offer voters by pretending as though her positions pose some sort of threat to those among a base that is motivated largely by fear.
Of course, one such GOP representative who has not only been using AOC as a tool to elevate herself but has arguably become obsessed with her is none other than the recently elected Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. After being stripped of her committee assignments and left to search for desperate attempts to remain relevant, Greene recently decided to make a spectacle of herself literally chasing down Representative Ocasio-Cortez, demanding that she accept her challenge to a debate and accusing her of supporting terrorists.
