Marjorie Greene May Have Told the Truth About Republicans.
At some point, the truth always comes out.
Of course with politicians, it doesn’t always come out intentionally. I suppose it should come as no surprise that with a lawmaker like Marjorie Greene, frustration was the catalyst and in the heat of the moment, Greene may have accidentally said the quiet part out loud when it comes to her fellow Republicans.
On camera, Greene said:
“Republicans go out on the campaign trail and go on TV, and do their five minute hearing videos, and posts up on social media, say all this garbage about how they’re going to fight it, stop it…well I feel like many of the American people think that Republicans in congress completely failed them. I feel the same way, and I’m a Republican member of congress.”
Well…she’s not entirely wrong.
It’s just a little bit amusing that she’s unwittingly told on herself as well. Greene stood there in front of those cameras with that feigned, frustrated tone we’ve seen her take quite often, saying things she so clearly thinks are profoundly important. Like it’s nothing we’ve never heard before.
The thing is, Greene’s not special.
At the end of the day, there’s nothing that truly sets her apart from the same politicians she’s complaining about. What, exactly, has this woman accomplished? What has she done other than feign outrage, proudly display her hate, and use it as a tool in order to get the Trump supporting Republican base on her side? How is she any less opportunistic or deceitful than any of her colleagues?
Greene does those hearing videos. She posts on social media. She talks about that fighting it, stopping it.
What has she accomplished?
The piece of me that chooses to find some sense of amusement in these antics can’t help wondering if Greene genuinely doesn’t see the irony in her words. But more…
